It’s been a long time coming but the first interview is finally here and we could not have found a better person to jump start the fiyahhh with. He is just getting ready to release his new mixtape “The Name Is iSH ” and is on his way to great things. Not only is he an emcee but he is also an actor/model/singer and has worked on a long list of TV shows and movies. You have probably seen him or heard him once or twice you just didn’t know but soon you will. So to start off on a long journey with iSH you know BringYaEhGame.com had to sit down with him and find out what he plans to do with the release of his first project in a country that is definitely getting the shine it deserves.
BYEG: Welcome to BringYaEhGame.com glad we could get this going, first off let’s talk about your new mixtape “The Name is iSH”. When will it be available and where?
iSH: Hey, thanks for reaching out! “The Name is iSH” mixtape will be available for FREE download on Friday May 28th at ishmusic.bandcamp.com everyone please check it out!
BYEG: Break it down a littile bit for the people where were you born and what made you move to Toronto?
iSH: Well, that’s kind of a long story but I’ll try and give you the short version. I was born in Ottawa, left when I was about 10 and moved to the Cayman Islands. Then I moved to NYC to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After spending quite a few years there I decided to switch it up, since Toronto’s always kind of been a second home anyway, it only seemed natural for me to come here. Now its where I live and I guess NY is my second home! …..that’s still wasn’t very short was it?
BYEG: With the release of your first project what do you feel you need to do or accomplish to get the recognition it should receive?
iSH: Well considering this is my first project I just wanted to introduce myself to the listeners which is why I called it “The Name is iSH”. And since people usually remember their first impression of you, hopefully I make it a good one! Haha.
BYEG: If you had to choose 3 artists to get rid of out of the game who would they be and why?
iSH: HaHa! That question is so foul. There are a lot of artists I’m not feeling at all, but I wouldn’t get rid of them necessarily. I just don’t listen to them. Sorry…I know you were probably hoping for one of those ’50 cent’ type answers!
BYEG: Where’s the one place in the world you would go to if you had the opportunity to just get up and go?
iSH: I’m lucky enough to have had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling but there are still a lot of places I haven’t been to. I’ve always wanted to go to Africa, Egypt and Australia to name a few. But if I had it my way I’d see the whole world.
BYEG: Who do you have on the new release?
iSH: As far as features I really didn’t put many people on the release. Since its my first project I wanted to use it as an opportunity for people to get a sense of who I am and what I bring to the table. I have a few singers though, Cory Lee, Mateo Jordache, and Naya Marie. Other then that its just me!
BYEG: Does it take a lot of practice to be able to sing and act on top of rhyming? What is the process you go through in order to be able to do all of those things?
iSH: I mean, I just like being creative in general. Ever since I was a kid I’ve always been that way. Whether its acting, or music or even drawing (which I’m not great at but still do sometimes haha) I just like having an outlet. Lately I’ve also, been learning the production side of things. I have no intention on being a producer or anything, I just enjoy the learning process.
BYEG: Do you feel it is better to go independent or would you sign if it was offered?
iSH: People have so many different opinions on this subject but at the end of the day, it comes down to the actual deal itself. Be it major or indie, if the deal was right, then I’d be interested.
BYEG: If tomorrow, you woke up and you were the next big artist what would be the first thing you would do?
iSH: I’d keep working man! There’s that old saying, it goes something like, ‘when you love what you do, then you never work’. I love what I’m doing right now and I just want to keep doing it, be it acting or music, I just want to stay busy!
BYEG: Where can people get in touch with you and any last words for the fans?
iSH: Yeah, first I’d like to thank everyone that’s supported me so far. Secondly, everyone please download “The Name is iSH” at ishmusic.bandcamp.com
