Day 2 of #WD5 went down yesterday and the energy in the building was intense! We made it inside just in time for the video tribute to PH who recently passed away #RIP, looking around at the faces of his fellow battle rap commorades you could literally see tears, everyone was feeling the loss and the legacy of an amazing emcee. After the heart felt tribute the battles kicked off, Quake vs Lexx Luthor was one for the books and a great way to start the night.

Almost every rapper from Toronto and their momma were in the building to celebrate and enjoy a taste of battle rap. In talking to some of the artists that were in attendance, it seems some are eagerly waiting to get in the ring and test the pen in the new format. Our picks for who we would like to see in the ring are Dan-e-o, Camoflauge, Sese, Jelly Too Fly, Spesh K and he has already dabbled in it but we would love to see Scandalis back again.

Battles of the night were from Daylyt vs Iron Solomon and Illmaculate vs Pat Stay. Iron made his return to battle rap last night and came with an epic performance probably one of his best but Daylyt gave him a fight. Usually Daylyt’s rounds are filled with gimmicks but this time he came with just bars, both held it down with a very debatable battle. A couple of drinks later and it was time, the title match between two of the best in the game. Pat Stay as always entered the ring with the confidence he was going to take the battle but Illmaculate proved to be too hard of an opponent as the final decision went to Illmaculate with a 3 to 2 split decision. The night ended on a great note and even though Canada lost the chain, KOTD gained a new champion. Until next time!
